if today had an acceptance speech.

I feel like I won the emmy for good monday, and I would like to thank the following people for making my day enjoyable.

first, to the people at the ID center,
thanks for laughing at me when I told you the story about flushing my byu id down the toilet. I'm glad I made your day, but did you really have to make me take a new picture?

I would also like to thank the boy at the library (yes you), even if your music was really loud. just because your headphones are in doesn't mean we can't hear your music. i was enertained, but people were trying to study. i loved the relient k selection, but was embarassed for you when taylor swift came on super loud and you had no idea.

Next, thanks to the byu games center for the change machines I used to get laundry quarters today. I felt like I had won a slot machine jackpot. and thanks to the riv dryers for actually drying my clothes.

I would like to thank my new fhe group for an entertaining evening, dave for providing a lovely SWKT tour for my freshman, fall for starting to come, and Brother Bott for giving a mission prep lesson that I needed alot.

not a bad day.

Also, today is the 21st of september! Celebrate with one of my favorite songs.

blisters the size of planets

I learned an important lesson about shoes today. But let me back track.

I am a comms major, and I forgot how cute people in my major are until I showed up in flip flops and a tshirt on the first day of school and felt horribly underdressed. Today I decided to look nicer, so I opted to put the flip flops aside and wear some lovely black wedges instead. By the time I got to my first class, my pinky toes were red and raw. Luckily I had two bandaids, so I put them on and thought I was safe. But oh no, I was so wrong. It got worse and worse, rubbing at every part of my foot so that I litterally took my shoes off as soon as I got to each class. I even led my first freshmen discussion group (one of my reasons for wearing nice shoes) barefoot. I had planned on staying on campus longer, but I couldn't take it anymore, so after work I hobbled home, literally limped home until I got to the edge of my complex and went barefoot.

I am now the proud owner of atleast 5 large blisters on each foot. I guess it's flip flops from now on.

welcome home

Well, the time has finally come. We finally decorated our living room, so I figured now I can put pictures of my "new" apartment on here. Cynthia, this is for you. Just promise not to stalk me. Welcome to our humble abode. and please note how clean it is. we had just finished our Saturday chores.

The living room. Please notice the Native American couches. We are one of probably 20 apartments in our whole complex of 130ish that don't have new couches. The other day my phone fell all the way through the couch. My lovely roommate Juliet modeled this room quite nicely.
We channelled our inner Jackson Pollock and did these splatter paintings the other day. This is the hallway to the back and the kitchen.
Our kitchen. The dishwasher is a nice touch, but it floods, so we haven't used it for two weeks and they probably won't fix it for another week. Yay management.
Our lovely vanity, perfect for six girls to get ready at the same time.
Kylie and I scored the biggest room. This is my side. The shelf at the foot of my bed was a DI purchase for $3 that I painted Caribbean blue. Kristin Cunningham would be proud. Our desk. The apartment didn't come with desk chairs, but mine (the one on the right) was floating around and shockingly, no one wanted it, so I dibbed it.
At the other end of the room are our closests, but they aren't very exciting.

"I must learn to love the fool in me---the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant, whom I also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool."

I love football!

I have never been more proud to be a BYU Cougar. Not only did we take down Oklahoma last night (in more ways than one...get well soon, Sam)

But Provo turned into the most un-Provo celebratory place I have ever seen. Cars honked for hours. We cheered for ever and literally danced in the streets. Spontaneous stadium celebrations? love it.

But the true fans welcomed the team home at the Provo airport in the middle of the night. Bummer to be short, but so fun.

Hundreds of fans + 2am + winning football team = best rally ever.
here's to a lot more where that came from!

if my life were a blog

this week I became a little more white.

Why, you may ask?

I started my unpaid internship. Even better, it's for a non-profit organization. I love it. a lot.

Not only that, I have recently taken to wearing my backpack from my study abroad, renewed the apartment recycling, and this weekend I'm jonesing to go to one of these.

I feel so stereotyped.
