once I spent the weekend in New York.
and it was amazing.
seeing shows on broadway, cruising shops on 5th avenue, and eating amazing food.
then I went back to work
and watched this...

it is christmastime. i am home.

This semester was hands down my craziest one yet. I often felt like I didn't have time to breathe, but in a lot of ways, it was my best semester yet. Now I'm home, getting ready for Christmas and thinking ahead to my next adventure. As I drove out of Provo last week, it was weird that I won't be coming back next semester. Like a friend told me, I want to go, I just don't want to leave.

Anyway, this break should be quite lovely.
Here is my to-do list:

• edit the BYU Comms Annual Report (honestly, I am super glad to have this project. I don't know what I would do with 2 PR-free weeks)
• catch up in my journal writing
• plan my life/summer internship
• get ready for my winter internship
• grow an extra layer of fat to stay warm in a DC winter
• update my portfolio
  
• celebrate Christmas with friends and family
• meet my newest niece
• play the piano, something I haven't done in months
• relax...if I can sit still love enough
  

viva las vegas!

Last weekend, my dear friend Laura and I went to visit her sister and brother-in-law in Las Vegas. Talk about a trip down memory lane!

my week at home for thanksgiving was great. I loved relaxing, being with family, and taking time to be thankful and thoughtful.

I have been watching this countdown since probably around 60 days, and the time is finally come. In just 9 hours, I will be on a plane bound for this wonderful place...San Diego!
for the PRSSA National Conference.
It couldn't come at a better time.
I am in major need of a break, and I think some sunshine, presenting and public relations are just what the doctor ordered.
I can't wait to meet new people, explore a new city, and be a PR nerd with 1000 other people for the weekend.

Oh, and yes...we are presenting to hundreds of people. That's us, in the (righteous) red.

Let's hear it for Idaho!

Comms 402 hit the road this weekend with a much needed trip to Burley, Idaho. It felt so good to take a break, barely check my e-mail and not have to worry about my mountain of a to-do list. Let's hear it for great friends and small towns. and yay for Ida and crew for housing us.

Highlights of the weekend include the cold and wet Burley High football game, Crazy Daves, the Mexican dress shop, dozens of tours, driving circles around Burley, potatoes, a haunted house in a condemned elementary school and an enlightening set of book reviews. Oh yes, I drove a tractor. It had a gps.

Imagine DI on steroids, combined with the leftovers from every garage sale in Idaho. But better. That's Crazy Dave's Emporium, which is so great an astronaut directed its traffic.

Idaho is windy. Stevo's is good. I'm having a heart attack 3 years earlier thanks to cheese fries and chicken.

This is only the fake version of the knives we saw at Walmart. I love hunting Burley-ites.

Lauren may have bought a "watch" from these girls camped on the corner. The craftsmanship was impecible and the 2 for $10 deal was unbeatable.

They sure know how to do Halloween in Idaho!
